A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF (THE APOCALYPSE OF JESUS CHRIST) BOOK OF REVELATION, Part I

It is interesting to me to notice that the KJV, NRSV and NASB entitle this “book” as “The Revelation to John,” while the NIV entitles it merely “Revelation.” I would have have entitled it “The Revelation of Jesus Christ to Israel and the Gentile Nations.” “Why'” you say? Well, let us look at how it is written and “to whom” it is written:

Rev 1:1-2
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must shortly take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
NASB

If you have been reading any of my posts you know that God has a reason for what He says, why He says it and to whom He says it. He does not use words loosely or carelessly. What we see here is that God gave this revelation, apokalupsis, (noun, a disclosure of truth, instruction, concerning divine things before unknown)  to Jesus Christ who sent and relayed it by His angel to His bond-servant John.

Rev 1:3 3

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

KJV

The words of this prophecy are just that, prophetic, things that will come to pass in the future. Preterists believe that this prophecy came to pass in 70 A.D. Futurists like myself and Fred Price Jr. believe it is still future. Time is the word kairos and means a fixed and definite time: the time occupied by what is written, i.e., the Coming of the Day of the Lord; the days of the wrath of our God. At the culmination of which, we, the born again believers of this Age, will return with Christ for the Battle of Armagedon.

Rev 1:4a

John to the seven assemblies that [are] in Asia:
YLT

Young’s Literal Translation properly translates ekklesias as assemblies, not churches. These 7 assemblies have nothing to do with the Church of God to which all born again believers belong, the Body of Christ.

Rev 1:4b
Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come;
KJV

Here we have an undoubted reference to, and paraphrase of, the name of Jehovah, as revealed in Ex. iii. 14. It is not from the Father to His children, as in the Church Epistles ; but it is from Jehovah as He was revealed and made known to Israel. This is in perfect keeping with what we hold to be the scope of the book. Three times we have this periphrasis of Jehovah, and yet it is varied according to the emphasis we are to place upon it. Bullinger, E.W. (2011-08-21). The Apocalypse or “The Day of The Lord”: Commentary on Revelation (Kindle Locations 2486-2490). Trumpet Press. Kindle Edition.

Rev 1:4
and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;
KJV

We see from Rev 8:2 that these seven spirits are angels and more than likely the angels of the 7 assemblies as well: “And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.” KJV  Rev 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. KJV

Rev 1:5-6

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
KJV

Grace and peace are given from the Old Testament reference to YHWH, the 7 angels who stand before Him and from Jesus Christ. As we go further in this spoken and written prophecy, we will see beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Church to which you and I belong will be long gone before the unfolding of the Great and Terrible Day of the LORD!

The Birth (genesis) of Jesus Christ, Part II

th_026

Matt 1:20
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
KJV

“For that which is conceived (gennao, a verb, 1080) in her is of [the] holy ghost.” First of all, there is no definite article “the” in the texts. When there is no article, there should be no capital letters. It should read: “for that which is to be born in her is of holy spirit.” “That which is conceived” is the single word gennao* (1080, from ginomai, 1096), meaning to procreate, regenerate, or engender. In the Bible, it is variously translated as “begat,” “should be born,”“were born,” “been born,” “shall bear,” “bear,” “brought forth,” “be born(again),” “was born (Moses),” “is delivered,” “which gendereth,” “is born (us who believe),” “free born (Paul),” “is begotten (us),” etc. In Matthew 1:20, it should have been translated as “that which is to be born,” instead of “conceived.” This distinction will become more succinct in the following verses.

Unfortunately there is not a Bible in print, that I know of, that makes the necessary distinction between The Giver (The Holy Spirit, who is God) and The Gift of (holy spirit). The presence or absence of the definite article “the” determines which one The Bible is talking about.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive (sullambano, 4815)in thy womb, and bring forth (tikto) a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called [the] son of the Highest: and [the] Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not (never had intercourse with) a man? And the angel answered, saying unto her, holy spirit shall come upon thee, and power (dunamis, 1411) of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also [that] holy thing which shall be born [of thee] shall be called [the] son of God. ( Lk 1:31–35, AT)

First, notice that this passage is in the future tense (some of which is still in the future), while the previous one from Matthew was in the past tense. Second, notice that the word translated as “conceive” is totally different than the word used in Matthew. Sullambano (to seize, take, conceive) is made up of two words: sun (4862) and lambano (2983). Lambano means to take or receive objectively. Sun denotes union; with or together by companionship or process. The same word is used in Luke 1:46:

“And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her,who was called barren.”

In Luke 1:35, the angel said, “holy spirit shall come upon thee.” “Come (1904)” and “upon (1909)” are the same words used in Acts 1:8a:

“But ye shall receive (lambano) power (dunamis, 1411), [after that] the holy spirit is come upon you.”

“Come (eperchomai)” means to supervene and to arrive, and “upon (epi)” is a superimposition, as a relation of distribution, rest, or direction. In this verse from Acts, Jesus is instructing his disciples as to what they should expect on the day of Pentecost. The gift from the Holy Spirit came upon them just as it came upon Mary, accompanied by the power needed to be “witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth.” In these two passages, the word “power (dunamis)” denotes the inherent, miraculous, power of God, which shall “overshadow (episkiazo, 1982)” or cast shade upon. Every usage of the word dunamis in the Bible is in relation to the power of God, whether in a cloud casting a shadow or the shadow of Peter cast over people who desired healing.

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, [which] said (saying), This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.                ( Mt 17:5)

Jesus was born, came into existence, just like you and I were, with the exception of how he was conceived! God’s spirit, of or from God, took care of the conception with the accompaniment of His inherent, miraculous power! The same power that raised Christ and Lazarus from the dead. Jesus did not pre-exist his birth. God did not take on the form of a man and come down from His throne and decide to become a baby and leave Mike & Gabe in charge of the heavenly hosts for 31 years! He did not die for 72 hours then somehow wake Himself up and raise Himself up from the dead. Too many people in the Christian world are far too entrenched in Greek Mythology and Mysticism. There are no Scriptures as absolutely clear as these that show the coming into existence of my Lord, Jesus Christ.

gennao (1080)is used 97 times in the NT and this is the only time it is translated as conceive.

NT:4815 sullambano (sool-lam-ban’-o); from NT:4862 and NT:2983; to clasp, i.e. seize (arrest, capture); specifically, to conceive (literally or figuratively); by implication, to aid: KJV – catch, conceive, help, take. Strong’s

Part II of the Kingdom of God and Heaven (What will you be doing in the Millennial Kingdom?)

What we do for 1,000 years in the Millennial Kingdom depends entirely upon us; it depends on what we believe now and what we teach others. Remember Matthew 5:19? He who breaks the least commandment and teaches other to do so will be the least in the kingdom. He who does the commandments and teaches others to do so will be the greatest. What do you want to be, the least or the greatest?

There are commandments in Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Thessalonians. Two of these commandments are in

1 Corinthians 14;37-39:

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord (Jesus).

38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
KJV

Has anyone taught you to do either one of these? Has anyone taught you “not” to do either one of these?

2 Thess 3:6-7
Brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ we command you to stay away from any believer who refuses to work and does not follow the teaching we gave you.
NCV

Bet you didn’t know this was a commandment.

1 Tim 1:1-5
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, who is our hope;

2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

5 Now the end of the commandment is the love of God out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
KJV

No other doctrine than what? Than the doctrine Paul received from the Lord Jesus, My, Paul’s, doctrine 2 Tim 3:10; Sound doctrine, 1 Tim 1:10; 2 Tim 4:10; Tit 1:9, 2:1; Good doctrine 1 Tim 4:6, 13, 16;

1 Tim 4:11-13
Command and teach these things. 12 Do not let anyone treat you as if you are unimportant because you are young. Instead, be an example to the believers with your words, your actions, your love, your faith, and your pure life.
NCV

1 Tim 6:14
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
KJV

The apostle Paul wrote everything applicable to the Church of God, the born again believer. Jesus called him a wise “masterbuilder” and commissioned him to lay a foundation for the us, the Church of the Body of Christ, of which Christ is the chief corner stone. Everything we build (our works) is to be built upon this foundation. This foundation did not exist in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John.

1 Cor 3:10
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
KJV

Eph 2:19-20
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and (Christian) prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
KJV

Jesus, during his earthly ministry, lived under the Law of Moses, which he fulfilled. The 4 Gospels are in no way representatives of the New Testament because the Testator of the new Testament was still alive. We are not under the Law of Moses, but under the grace of God in Christ Jesus, our ascended Lord and Messiah.

Heb 9:16-17
For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
KJV

Believers who build their life’s work upon something in the Gospels or the rest of the Old Testament, that is not in alignment with the Pauline Epistles, could very well find themselves suffering loss at the judgment Seat of Christ, while others are being rewarded for what they did build upon the foundation that Paul laid. They could also find themselves in position’s of least importance in the Kingdom of God.

1 Cor 3:14-15
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
KJV

I have been told by a few believers that they would rather stake what they do in the Millennial Kingdom on 2,000 years of church traditions than on a couple of hundred years of a new perspective of understanding the Bible.

As you can see, the true New Testament begins with Romans. What foundation are you building upon? Are you willing to have your work burnt to ashes because you trust more in Church Traditions than in the Gospel of God and Christ as revealed to the apostle Paul?

IS THIS A RISK THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE?

Part 2 of The Last Days from 2nd Peter 3

As you will soon see Peter is no longer quoting Joel in 2 Pe 3:3, but he does tie “The Last Days” to “the day of the LORD.” If you have read my book or some of my blog posts you know that the day of the LORD is Yahweh’s day, not the day of Christ or the day of the Lord Jesus. In Joel as well as the rest of the Old Testament through Malachi, when God, who is The Holy Spirit, wanted YHWH mentioned the word LORD in all capital letters was used.

Unfortunately when the New Testament translators referred to the day of the LORD they did not put the word in all caps, but as Lord, which has caused much confusion. All one really has to do is look back and see what a time calamity the day of the LORD is when the day of the Lord Jesus is a time of rejoicing.

2 Pe 3:10 says But, the day of the LORD will come like a thief, and then (sometime later) the heavens will pass away with a loud noise and the elements will be dissolved with fire and the earth and everything that is done on it will be burned up…..waiting for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God.

Old Testament prophets didn’t know anything about The Gathering Together, the episunagoge, of the church of God. They didn’t know there would be a Church of God, or that salvation would be available by undeserved divine favor, because God kept it secret from them. If He had not kept it secret from them, the devil would never have allowed Jesus Christ to be crucified and die! (See 1 Cor 2:8).

2nd Thessalonians 2 tells us implicitly in verses 2-3 that the day of the LORD will not come unless the departure, the apostasia, comes first. “And then (and not until then) will the lawless one be revealed!” The revealing, apokalupto, the unveiling of the False Prophet, an Antichrist, marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation and the day(s) of the LORD. The Departure, the Gathering Together, marks the end of salvation by grace.

No one knows when the last days will be or the end times,  but we should all live like they are here now since none of us are promised tomorrow. When I say we should live like these are our last days I mean operating the ministry of reconciliation like there was no tomorrow. We are our friends’ and acquaintances’ last best chance to believe in Christ as their Savior. Romans 10:9 and 10 is the number one best scripture for persuading someone to be saved and how to be saved. Let us not be weary in well doing.

The Last Days (Don’t put your foot in your mouth too)!

There is not just a little confusion over the Last Days. One of the reasons for this is because of what Peter said in Acts 2:14-21. What he said was not true and you will see that it was not true if you just look at Joel Chapter 2, from which he was quoting. The only thing Peter got right was the spirit being poured out.

Joel 2 is speaking about the coming of the Days of the LORD—“days of darkness and gloom, the sun an.d the moon are darkened, the stars quit shining, Yahweh utters his voice at the head of his army, numberless are they who obey his command, etc.” We are all guilty one time or another in a time of excitement of putting our foot in our mouths and this was one of Peter’s. After all, he did not know about the secret and wouldn’t know about it for a few years yet.

Believers spoke in tongues on the Day of Pentecost; they didn’t prophesy. the sun did not go black; the moon did not turn to blood and stars did n0t quit giving their light. What happened was not “what was spoken through the prophet Joel.”

The second usage of the words “in the last days” is in 2 Tim 3 where it says distressing times will come where people will be:

  • lovers of themselves, implacable, slanderers, swollen with conceit,
  • lovers of money, profligates, brutes, treacherous,
  • boasters, arrogant, abusive, haters of good, reckless
  • disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman
  • lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
  • holding to the outward form of godliness, but denying its power

Paul goes on to say that these folks are of corrupt minds and counterfeit faith, who oppose the truth. they are wicked people and impostors who will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and even themselves. Rather than spend time wondering who they are Paul exhorts Timothy and the rest of us “to continue in what we have learned and firmly believed, know from whom we have learned it (who did Timothy learn from? His teacher, his/our father in the Word, Paul).

I have covered this subject in great detail in my book, available at http://www.fredswolfe.com with my money back guarantee (if you don’t like it send it to me and I will send you your money back with shipping).

What do you think; do you think just because someone says something in the Bible makes it automatically true?

Part V of Identifying the False Prophet; the Predecessor of the Antichrist

As you have seen from the previous four segments the end is not yet. It could be said and has been said by many that “we are definitely in the end times.” As I have said before, there will be things leading up to the apokalupto of the False Prophet, but what they will be no one knows for sure. And I don’t believe anyone can tell you with absolute certainty that we are in the end times. I have shown you what will happen after being Caught Up, harpazoo, of 1Thess. 4:17, but no one knows what will be going on prior to that.

There are no prophecies concerning this Age because none of the prophets before Paul knew anything about this age. This age was kept a secret by God:

Rom 16:25-27 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel (Paul’s) and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret which has been kept silent since the world began but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the (Christian) prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;

Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy (Christian) apostles and prophets by spirit; (How many Old Testament apostles can you name?)

Since none of them, no one, had any knowledge of this Secret Age, they could not have prophesied anything about it, particularly what to expect before the Gathering Together of the saints! In other words no one has any idea when this will occur. There are no worldly events which will indicate when it will happen.

Now, if I am wrong about the Rapture and there is none as many believe, at least you know what to look for concerning the False Prophet.

So, when will “the end” come? Let’s see what 1 Cor 15:20-26 says:

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep (dead). 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the standing up from the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming, (Remember the 5 parts of the Parousia, coming, in Part IV?) This is addressing the dead, those who are asleep.

24 then comes the end, when He, Jesus, hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death (death is not destroyed until Rev. 20:14, after the Millennial Kingdom.)  NASU

When all of the “whens” have occurred, then comes the end!

Part IV of Identifying the False Prophet; the Predecessor of the Antichrist

Clarification of The Events Before and After the Revealing of the False Prophet

2 Thess 2:1  was the first verse of Part III Identifying the False Prophet; the Predecessor of the Antichrist.; Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, WEB

Coming is the Greek word Parousia and there are many aspects of this Coming:

The 1st aspect of the Parousia is our gathering together to him. These 2 words are the one word episunagoge. Look at this word for a minute and you can see epi as in epicenter center and synagogue. Episunagoge means a complete collection, especially a Christian meeting. When Christians come together for a meeting it is usually called a Church, which is the equivalent of the synagogue for the Jewish meetings. Episunagoge comes from the word episunago, which means to gather together besides and in one place.

The suffix of  these 2 Greek words is agoo, which means to lead by accompanying to or into a place or destination; to attach oneself to as an attendant.

Verse 3 tells us that the day of the LORD will not come until the “Departure” comes first! 2 Thess 2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, WEB. The word for departure is apostasia, apo, away from and stasia, to stand.

Apo NT:575 is used of local separation, after verbs of motion from a place (of departing, fleeing, removing, expelling, throwing, etc. Luke 22:41 2. used of the separation of apart from the whole; where of a whole some part is taken.* (Translating apostasia into apostasy is not translating at all, but is transliterating it into a similar English word. It is fraudulent and deceptive, as well as lazy).

The verb of motion in this verse that apostasia is used after is erchomai, “except there come.” This seals the deal. It means to come from one place into another! Metaphorically, of Christ’s invisible return from heaven.*

After the Gathering Together of the saints to Heaven (the Rapture) the 2nd aspect of the Parousia is the revealing, unveiling, or uncovering, apokalupto, of the False Prophet.

The 3rd aspect of the Parousia is the Great Tribulation.

The 4th is The Bema, the Judgement Seat of Christ, where all Christians will be either rewarded for what we did with what we had on earth: 2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. KJV

The 5th is the 2nd Coming of Christ with us, 2 Thess 1:7-10 when the Lord Jesus is revealed, apokalupto,  from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, giving vengeance to those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus, who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes to be glorified with his saints, and to be admired among all those who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day.WEB 1 Thess 3:13 at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

When Christ gathers us together, there is no apokalupto, no angels in flaming fire and none of God’s vengeance. At the Gathering Together no one sees Jesus coming in the clouds. Just look at the contrast here:

1 Thess 4:16-17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. KJV Caught up is the word harpazoo which means to snatch out or away; proverbial, to rescue from the danger of destruction. You will also see that we meet Jesus in the air. It is customary in Eastern cultures that a host who is expecting company, go out to the edge of town to escort them back to their home. This is the same concept. Jesus does not come to earth.

Part III of Identifying the False Prophet; the Predecessor of the Antichrist

The only other place in the Christian Scriptures that something of this magnitude is spoken about is in 2 Thess 2:1-10: Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you 2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by […]

Part II of Identifying the False Prophet; the Predecessor of the Antichrist

One of the keys to understanding who is what in the book of Revelation being able to see the different Greek words from which our English words are translated.  Beast for example is translated from either zoon or therion:

NT:2226 zoon (dzo’-on); neuter of a derivative of NT:2198; a live thing, i.e. an animal: KJV – beast. NT:2198  zao (dzah’-o); a primary verb; to live (literally or figuratively).

NT:2342 therion (thay-ree’-on); diminutive from the same as NT:2339; a dangerous animal: KJV – (venomous, wild) beast. NT:2339 thera (thay’-rah); from ther (a wild animal, as game); hunting, i.e. (figuratively) destruction: KJV – trap.

Zoon is used 7 times and therion is used 37 times in Revelation. Here we can see that therion is not just any living animal, but a wild, dangerous and destructive one as well.

Rev 13:11-17 describes this Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast (therion) coming up out of the earth; and he had (having) two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon. 12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast (therion) in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast (therion), whose fatal wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast (therion), telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast (therion) who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. 15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast (therion), so that the image of the beast (therion) would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast (therion) to be killed. 16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast (therion) or the number of his name.  NASU

Now let us look at 12 attributes of this 2nd therion beast:

  • Comes from the earth as opposed to the 1st beast who comes from the sea;
  • Has 2 horns
  • Speaks eloquently “as a”(figure of speech simile) dragon- NT:1404 drakoon, drakontos, ho a great serpent, a fabulous animal
  • Exercises all the authority (exousia, physical and mental power, influence, rights, governance) of the 1st beast
  • Makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast
  • Causes great signs (miracles and wonders),
  • Makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men
  • Deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs
  • Tells, commands, those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast
  • And it was given to him (autos, he, she or it), to give breath (pneuma, spirit) to the image (eikoon, likeness, figure) of the beast
  • Causes as many as do not worship the image of the beast (therion) to be killed
  • Causes all, to be given a mark (charagma, an etching, stamp or sculpted figure) on their right hand or on their forehead, so that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast (therion) or the number of his name

This should give you plenty of food for thought for helping you understand the chronology of End Time events. Does this help?

What is The False Prophet? Will You Know It When You See It?

(Taken from Chapter XI of my book)

Yes, there any many false prophets and false teachers, but there is only 1 False Prophet thrown into the Lake of Fire:

Rev 19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. KJV

This individual is first mentioned 3 chapters earlier:

Rev 16:13
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. KJV

Prior to this there is no mention of this individual by this name. The only way we can discover more about them is by their attributes:

  • In ch. 19 we can see that they “wrought miracles
  • and through these miracles people were seduced into receiving the Mark of the Beast
  • and into worshipping the image of the beast
